DOT & NRC Requirements for Shipping Radioactive Materials

The Radiation Safety Academy will be presenting DOT & NRC Requirements for Shipping Radioactive Materials. This event will be held on May 28, 2008 at the Roche Palo Alto campus.

This 1-day class is for people responsible for shipping radioactive materials for: research, nuclear medicine, specific and broad scope licensees, portable gauges or sources, and decommissioning sites. This class is designed to train employees in the requirements of the Dept. of Transportation as specified by 49 CFR 172 Subpart H and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in 10 CFR 71.5. All HAZMAT employees need to be aware of these regulations for shipping radioactive material! This class also reviews rules for shipping radioactive materials by air in accordance with ICAO/IATA requirements.

This one day course will be held on May 28, 2008 from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm at Roche Palo Alto. The course fee is $395 per person. Students are provided with a 400 page manual which includes pertinent regulations and other helpful information. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided. Lunch can be purchased in the cafeteria.
