ERM is seeking an EHS Compliance/Management Systems Consultant to join our growing Performance & Assurance practice team in Walnut Creek, CA. In this role, you will provide project management and technical assistance on EHS compliance projects, EHS management systems, compliance assurance programs for clients locally, nationally, and internationally. This is an excellent career opportunity to work with an expert consulting team on challenging EHS management projects for large global clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance, EHS management system, and safety-related compliance projects.
- Develop EHS compliance procedures, plans, permits, and reports.
- Assess regulatory compliance across various safety programs and environmental media, analyzing large volumes of data in spreadsheet and database formats.
- Perform EHS compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Design and implement EHS management systems and programs for clients.
- Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
- Support ERM Partners-in-Charge and other Project Managers to effectively manage and deliver projects.
- Effectively steward and build client relationships leading to repeat business.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in engineering, safety, environmental science, business administration, or related discipline.
- 8 to 15 years of EHS experience in consulting and industrial environment. Strong H&S experience highly desirable; oil & gas sector experience desired; site investigation and remediation experience a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to provide detailed regulatory interpretation of federal and state EHS regulations,
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports.
- Strong MS Office computer skills required; advanced understanding of Excel and databases desired.
- Experience maintaining corporate management standards (either as a consultant or an internal compliance officer).
- Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
