Job Title:		INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST
Location:		Ampac Fine Chemicals Sacramento area/ Northern CA

Ampac Fine Chemicals has regular full time opportunities available at our Rancho Cordova site (Sacramento area/ Northern CA). We are a leading manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients and registered intermediates under cGMP guidelines for commercial customers in the pharmaceutical industry. Our facilities in Northern California offer specialized engineering capabilities including high containment for high potency compounds, energetic and nucleoside chemistries, and chiral separation using the first commercial-scale simulated moving bed in the United States. INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST Under general direction, performs industrial hygiene assignments requiring a wide application of advanced principles, theories and concepts in the field plus a working knowledge of other related disciplines.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Provides imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving the conventional utilization of industrial hygiene techniques.
• Conceives and plans projects involving the development of new methods to attain objectives.
• Recognizes, evaluates and recommends measures for control of chemical, safety, and physical hazards present at the work site.
• Designs and conducts monitoring and training programs.
• Maintains knowledge of existing and proposed changes in industrial health and safety regulations.
• Maintains, prepares, uses and procures industrial health testing equipment.
• Makes recommendations and presentations based on accepted industrial health scientific methodology.
• Keeps current within area of specialty in support of project assignments.
• May provide technical guidance to less senior industrial hygienists and support personnel.

Typical Requirements
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate science and five years of directly related technical experience in industrial health or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
